The right to narrate our own memory.

Integrating the Learning Circles’ exchange of decolonial perspectives on topics such as patrimonial restitution, Afro-Andean traditional dance and Andean food history, the research for ¿Quién es el verdadero Huaquero? culminates in an audiovisual installation activated by dance and performance. Three projected images provide three portals into historical archive material with which the artists will interact with text, dance, performance and music. Through language interpretation, we create access for our German-, English- and Spanish-speaking audiences. Creative audio description breaks down barriers for our blind and visually impaired audience.

How to participate?

The project consists of participatory learning circles and culminates in an installation performance, which will be produced and presented at the end of the festival. The learning circles are open to everyone and do not have to be attended sequentially. If you want to join, you can just drop in, or feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have.

    Accessibility

  • Each event will have facilitation available in English, German or Spanish. Audio description and access assistance such as a guide system and pick-up service will be provided at our events. More information below in the individual events.
