As a “warm up” the Hessische Theater Akademie lecture series Learning to learn took place From April till July 2024, in cooperation with IMPLANTIEREN 2024, and the program Art as Social Practice.
Learning affects us all. Neither is knowledge objective, nor is learning neutral. Yet we often participate in learning processes without questioning them more closely. Who learns what, using which methods? How is it that universities and schools have for so long been spaces that not only tell us what to learn, but also dictate how we should learn it? What and who is excluded from academic learning? And why? And what approaches are there, especially in and from the arts, to practicing other ways and forms of learning, knowledge production and knowledge sharing?
The HTA lecture series invites five positions to five sessions, each of which will share with us their strategies, practices and techniques of different, playful or artistic learning in a lecture, followed by a workshop the day after.
